I found this book easy, fast read and so helpful. This gives a new outlook and way of thinking that will change your mind totally and give you encouragement to try again. I recommend this book to all of us that have tried and tried to declutter, only to quit from being overwhelmed, taking too much time, trying to organize and just can't get rid of things. "So the point of decluttering isn't to get rid of things you want to keep it's to identify those things and then to make space to enjoy those things" (page 50) Her theory is to be able to cherish things and not hold on to the things that hold you back from enjoying your home. She gives step by step instructions that make sense and she gives chapters on easy ways to get rid of the stuff you don't need room by room. This is a new way of teaching makes you think differently about de-cluttering your life.
DECLUTTER COM REVIEWS HOW TO
Thank you ladies for creating such wonderful content that includes everyone without judgement in a format that makes you feel like you are right at home.Dana teaches about how to get rid of the clutter in your home, not by organizing but learning how to get rid of the clutter and keep it out of your home. After listening to an episode I feel like I have just had tea with a good friend (and had lots of laughs) and I am always excited to apply their ideas right away. They warmly meet you where you are and have upbeat conversations and helpful suggestions that can be applied to everyone. They do not judge or have any negative remarks about those who struggle with a room, a category or even the entire house. They acknowledge that different people struggle with different amounts they would like to declutter as well as areas/categories they want to declutter. They acknowledge the boundaries required and encourage you even if you live with a partner/kids/roommate/family members who are cluttered. It’s about decluttering in a graceful way as you are living your life. There is no “right way” or “deadline” you have to meet.

Everything is given as an idea to use if it suits you, in your individual life and your individual circumstances. They take reality into account with their suggestions, such as limited time, mobility, energy, and enthusiasm for decluttering. A few things that set this podcast apart from others in an outstanding way are the following: The ladies always take reality, individual circumstances, and acceptance of varying degrees of clutter. I have been listening to all of the previous episodes as well as their current one. This is the first podcast on this topic that I feel confident in where I am on my own decluttering journey with enthusiasm to challenge myself even more in my efforts. They are both so kind, welcoming, and respectful about everyone’s situations and goals. I came across this podcast and I couldn’t be more grateful that I have. They wonderful women continue to give me ideas I have never heard of or considered before! There are many original and creative new ideas. I have been a minimalist since college (15 years ago!) and I have read/watched/listened to almost everything out there on declutter and minimalism.
